Aceber - Povestea unui brand romanesc de ochelari de soare

Rebecca was born one summer afternoon, and since then nothing has the same weight as before. You've probably heard that expression from your parents and thought it was just a nice saying. It's not. It's literally true - suddenly, every important decision you make no longer goes through your own filter, but through the question "would I want you to grow up in a world where things are done this way?"

ACEBER is my answer to that question. The name is Rebeca, spelled backward. It's not a wordplay found in a brainstorming session. It's how I chose to carry my daughter's name forward, into something I build with my own hands, every day.

What I saw and didn't like

Many times I looked for a pair of sunglasses for myself and found the same thing you probably experienced: a market full of extremes. On one side, cheap glasses, sold everywhere, without any real guarantee that they truly protect you from the sun - just dark lenses, placed on a frame, that's it. On the other side, big brands, with huge prices, where you mostly pay for a logo, not for what actually happens to your eyes.

Between the two, almost nothing. No Romanian brand to tell you clearly: we offer real, verifiable protection, at a price that makes sense.

I thought about Rebecca wearing, in 20-30 years, the same eyes she looks at me with today, curious. I thought that every summer spent with poor quality glasses is a summer in which her eyes - or yours - age a little faster than they should. And I realized that I couldn't leave that as just an observation. I had to do something about it.

The line I didn't negotiate

When I started building ACEBER, the first thing I decided wasn't what a frame looks like or what colors we have in the collection. The first thing was: every pair must have real, verifiable UV400 certification, not just a label that sounds good. CE certification. REACH certification. No exceptions, no "maybe in the next collection."

The reason is simple and personal: I wouldn't put something on Rebecca's face that I wouldn't check thoroughly. And if that standard is good enough for my child, then it's the standard I offer to anyone who chooses ACEBER. There is no "cheaper" version of caring for someone's eyes.

This means that when you choose an ACEBER model, you're not just choosing a shape you like on your face. You're choosing a lens that actually does the job it's meant for - that blocks UV radiation as stated on the label, not just seemingly.

What remains, beyond a summer

Sunglasses are, apparently, a seasonal item. But your eyes don't take a break between summers. Exposure accumulates, year after year, whether you notice the immediate effect or not.

ACEBER doesn't exist to be just another brand in an already crowded market. It exists because I wanted to leave behind something built with real care - not because it sounds good in a product description, but because that's how I looked at every decision, thinking of someone specific.

When you wear ACEBER, you're not just wearing a summer accessory. You're wearing a decision made with the same care with which I would choose anything for my own child.
